Ear Gauging and Body Mods

Is stupid. In my opinion. Are people so bored that they have to come up with new ways to mangle themselves? Originally we had tattoos and piercings. Now, we have tattoos, piercings, ear/nose/lip/tongue gauging, those skin piercings(the ones that are just your skin pierced...), other mods like cutting your tongue in two to look like a snake, or this one guy that cut his ears into jigsaw puzzle shape, and many other stupid things. In other countries they have things like neck extending, or foot shrinking.  I'll avoid the other sensitive parts of the body that are even modded. Some things just go too far.

What is wrong with being normal? I can understand doing these things if you're ugly. If you can't be nice to look at, you can at least be interesting to look at. But so many people do odd things to themselves. Do people really want attention that badly? Once all the attention whores do this, and it becomes normal, what will they do then? I can't even imagine.

If you do this stuff, why?

    1. All I see in these pictures are people enjoying life. Fucking love it. If it makes you happy fuckin do it fuck anyone and everyone who judges people off there looks. I say cover it in tats gauge it out and laugh when people judge you. You fools wouldn't last a day in our shoes. You would buckle under the pressure of negativity from close minded fucks. But yet we keep going. hahahahaha

  2. I got gauged ears. Keep it to a reasonable size and it's pretty nifty. Once it gets over half an inch or so though it starts to get a little ridiculous.

  3. How can anyone hate themselves that much? It makes me wonder what they have done to think they deserve this punishment.

  4. actually in some pics (2nd/3rd etc..) it's tradition of the people to wear it in times past.

  5. I don't see why people do this sort of thing to themselves. I mean for culture or tradition fair enough, but people who do it to be "cool".

  6. Did you ever think that maybe people do this because its beautiful. its what makes us unique and interesting. Its what makes us happy like being plain makes you happy. I have over 15 piercings, guaged ears, and 7 tattoos. They are a part of me like a birthmark. They make me, me. Think about that before you condem us for being bolder and more intouch with ourselves than you are. Its not for attention, because I don't care how people react to them, but they better know why I do it before they pass judgement.

  7. I think it's great. I am 66 years old and was a teenager in the great 60s, and nobody should be ridiculed or criticized for being themselves. At least thay have to guts to do as they want with their bodies, unlike many moaners that probably as boring as hell.

Get it on and keep it coming: live your lives as you want to and ignore small minded people that want you to conform and be like them

    2. Be themself means not altering who and what you are, thus guages are not. But I cant control what the world does, as it deveates from its trueself, I just cant stand this genre of human thought that feel or craves the need for tatoos, body mods, and such, i dont know you so doo what you want. But it does make sad to see and know of it. PEOPLE ARE BECOMING OUT OF CONTROL MORE WORRIED ABOUT WEITHER OR NOT THEY CAN DO SOMETHING TO WEITHER THEY SHOULD "SELFISH MUTILATION" Look at me syndrome......

    3. Sounds like a bunch of close minded idiots. You say gauges and piercing are wrong and stupid. Have you ever thought you might be the one that's wrong and stupid. Some people do these things to give themselves confidence. I have 2 inch holes in my ears big ol hole in my nose and plenty of tats. And I fu***** love myself. Your just afraid of what society might have to say. Or the struggles that people like me and many others go through. You wouldn't last 10 min in our shoes. Stop judging people by there looks. How about get to know that person and judge them for who they are not what the look like.

  11. Just because you don't want to get ridiculously painful procedures because you're too lazy to be unique yourself, it doesn't mean those who don't go through these procedures are "boring as hell". You're free to express yourself however, I don't give a crap - but it doesn't automatically make you exciting nor interesting. In a lot of cases the person themself is boring, the only thing interesting about them IS the body modification, the only thing exciting about them IS the body modification. If you truely are sixty six, I find it sad you still haven't grown out of criticizing those who don't go through this shit. I know better and I'm sixteen. Haha.
If it's all about being interesting, don't waste your time and risk your health with body modifications. If you're that desperate, be yourself and people will respect you for who you are and for your past. This body modification hype around an individual is bound to end eventually. People will grow to accept that. But people keep their interests in an individual because they are subject to change any time.

    1. I know better and I'm sixteen, huh? Learn some respect, you arrogant little prick. I served my country for four years in the U.S. Marine Corps, and am very proud of the tattoos I accumulated in the gun club. I have half inch ears, because I love them. I enjoy them. They're something that I...ME, Ich, enjoy looking at. If you judge someone for something so superficial, you are quite seriously a piece of shit.

    2. Learn some respect yourself, you self righteous asshole. If she needs to respect him simply because of his age then so do you, shes a child. Thank you for your service to our country. But that doesn't give you some special air of authority or anything. Who gives a fuck about your service in this discussion's context?

You have to give respect before you can get it, and your comments or description of yourself make it easy to dismiss your stupid ass, because you dont even respect yourself...

  13. I have a madonna piercing, a couple tattoos, and my ears gauged ( to a zero ) and for me personally that is where i am happy. There are A LOT of people who do this simply because THEY enjoy how they look afterwards. If you cut your hair a certain way it's because that's how you like it, not because you want people to notice you for a shitty haircut you got at Great Clips. Some people chose more extreme ways of modification than others to make themselves happy. Some like to test the limits of their own body or enjoy the novelty of it at times. Anything you do to alter your appearance is a modification, lets not lose site of that. Cutting your hair, geting your ears pierced, a tattoo, waxing/plucking your eyebrows, and even putting on makeup is a modification because it is not your natural appearance.

  14. first off.
body mods isnt a form of attention-whoring. its a form of art. some people may use it to get attention, but there are people out there that do it because they love it. i for one am going to be covered in tattoos. not much into peircings. might stretch my ears. idk. but dont call it attention whoring. because it is not.

  15. Lol, you are so fucking ignorant.

  16. Dude, they do it because they want to. Because they can. It's just something they're into. if you don't like it, then don't look at it. Simple as that.

  17. I think it's shortsighted and foolish, the fad will be over and you will be stuck looking like a relic. I'm glad mullets at least could be cut off! :-)

  19. entitled to your opinion, but you shouldn't shun people for what they choose to do, it shapes the way they are, body modification has been around since mayan/aztec times, do you think they just wanted attention, it's a different way of enhancing your image, if you don't want it, don't get it, don't complain about the people that do.

  20. what is with the feet?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That is what they used to do to little girls in China a long time ago. At a young age they would wrap their feet to make them the smallest possible. The smallest the feet the more sexi/ attractive you were therefore getting a better chance to be married later in life. It was a extremely painful procedure that thousands of girls went through, often losing their life because of infections.
What you see in the picture is a lady that went through all that. What you see at the bottom of her foot is her deformed toes.
It is very sad.....very sad. Thank God now is illegal to bind girls feet.

  22. I can see what you're saying about taking these piercing to the extreme, but why be concerned about other's life choices? I view these as art. As for the images of the Asian women, that is their culture. Women have been binding their feet as a symbol of status for thousands of years. Why make fun of someone else's culture?

  23. I say do what you want, if you want to look ridiculous than do so. No matter how intelligent you may be, looking like that is unprofessional which means less employment opportunities for you, and more for me. Survival of the fittest. Be as "artistic" as you want. When it comes down to it, my public interactions will go smoother (ex: shopping, going to the pool, going to a baseball game, taking my kids to school, etc.), and my quality of life will on average be higher than that of a freak show. I just have one question: how do you mow your fucking lawn with any dignity? Actually I don't really care..it's obviously a mental disorder, and you cant fix actively stupid. Thank you lizard man and tiger fat whore lady for inspiring other morons to reveal themselves as well.

  25. Only shit, there's a lot of pricks on here. Be who you want to be, do what you want to do. Your life is yours only and skin rots away. People will remember you for your deeds rather than you looks, only shallow, insecure ass hats judge others by looks.

P.S. I am a practicing lawyer with body mods and tattoos and I don't cut my own lawn, the people I hire do. Good day.

  26. Whoever wrote this is just . . . WOW
    Seriously wtf
I mean i know everyone has their own opinions
But people who have tattoos , body modifications , and piercings (me included)are NOT attention whores or anything like that.
It's a form of self expression maybe makeing the person feel better about themselfs & it's people like YOU who make them feel bad about themselfs like if there was something wrong with them and shit. When clearly it makes me sick to think that you're makeing a shit load of people feel like that.
It's like me judgeing you for being to fat or skinny and makeing you want to change
Insted of ACCEPTING YOU THE WAY YOU ARE !!!
Ugh point is. Fuck you stupid prick

  27. Its so stupid that some people who support body mods call people who don't "plain" and whatever, then say "don't judge us" oh just because your being judged you wanna judge someone else, stop contradicting yourself, express your opinion, stop trying to look like the victim when your lowering yourself like everyone else. there are people who choose not to modify their body, they may have all the personality in the world. some body modifiers might even be boring, depends on the person, an alteration won't change your personality. I don't judge anyone, sometimes its cool to me, sometimes its a little extreme. So what, the people getting all rude -body modifier or not- are just plain assholes in general.

    ReplyDelete
  28. There are a lot of good things one can do, this is just not one of them. Yes, I am boring but we all are, we better learn to live with it trying to do something good instead of trying to be boring and stupid.

  29. Have you ever thought that the people with these procedures feel pretty with them? I personally have my first and second lobes pierced and have an industrial piercing. I have had these pierced because with them, I feel ten times more beautiful than anything has ever made me feel. Also, if you are going to bash the people who get these modifications; learn your terminology. The process of stretching your ears it literally called ear stretching not "gauging." Gauging is simply the size guide we use to determine how big a piece of jewelry has to be. We do not refer to a surface piercing (or dermal) as a skin piercing. They are both specialized piercings that can look very beautiful if done correctly. And the process of cutting your tongue is called tongue bifurcation or tongue splitting. The next time you decide to judge people at least know what you are talking about, unlike in this case where you made yourself seem like an uneducated idiot trying to sound cool.
