A Matter of Time

I'm losing hope that anything will or even can get better for America.

Hopefully I'm wrong to think that people won't care enough to do anything.

The issue is, everyone is too comfortable. They still have something to lose. We still have money, as worthless as it is becoming, and homes, and families, and possibly most importantly...entertainment. As long as people are entertained, they don't have the will or desire to pursue issues with whats wrong with this country. All they care about is being entertained.

With each generation, things get worse and worse though. Nobody stops to consider what the next generation is losing, because it's not that big of a deal, and it's only a small thing this time around. And the problem with that next generation is, they won't miss it because they never had it. Then that generation is comfortable with how everything is, they only see what they have as normal, then something else is taken away. But it's not enough to incite anyone to action. And the previous generation? They're old and only trying to take care of themselves and incapable of doing anything. Another generation comes along that has even less...but they never had the things the previous generations had so they don't know what they are missing either. It's a downward trend, and one that a government given enough time can use to take every last shred of freedom from people without anyone doing anything to stop it.

It is a slow decay. We've gone from one generation where a president doing surveillance on someone gets them impeached, to where a president does surveillance on everyone and nothing happens. We've lost privacy. We've lost security. We're losing, if not lost already, our freedom of speech. And people don't really notice. What is noticed? Facebook Messenger permissions.

So far, the one freedom anyone seems to really be fighting for is the second amendment, the right to bear arms. Given enough time, perhaps we would have seen a generation that didn't really use guns, and wouldn't have had an issue losing them. There are many countries already that have outlawed firearms. It only makes sense that the US will one day do the same. As people continue to fight to keep their right to bear arms, nobody seems to be fighting to prevent schools and the media from teaching our kids that guns are evil and bad...and one day they will be the ones deciding whether we keep that right or not.

Facebook Messenger vs NSA

I was thinking the other day as I continue to see people freak out about the standard permissions that it requires for it to function...why does everyone freak out about Facebook permissions, but nobody cares that the NSA can and probably does listen in to your calls, your emails, your texts, track your location, and even use your phone while it's "off", and all without your permission or a warrant? And it's not just limited to the NSA, but even the police are spying on you...

Boundaries of freedom are crossed and obliterated by your own government. Facebook, which you have the personal choice of not using and have to accept the permissions and is actually bound by laws that, not being a lawyer or anything like that, I would assume prevent them from actually doing anything people think they will do. At worst, Facebook will use the data it collects for better advertisements to increase revenue. At worst, the government will take you away to a prison without charge or trial indefinitely.

You should also remember that in this day and age, if a company as large as Facebook is in fact watching you on your phone and reading your messages without your knowledge that there is a good chance you'll know that they are doing that. For how many people they would have working on such a project, at least one of them would have the good conscience to come forward.

I've included the current permissions for Facebook Messenger and Google Hangouts app taken from Google Play. Notice how they are almost exactly the same? If you want to have issues with Facebook Messenger, then perhaps you should worry about Google as well as most messaging apps and stop using all of them. At least if they do what you seem worried they will, they asked for permission first.

Are Police a bigger hazard than speeders?

As a truck driver, I see police with people pulled over every single day. Sometimes 4-5 people in a night pulled over. Occasionally they have people just stopped in the outside lane because there isn't anywhere to actually pull over (and those people are probably idiots that just stop in the road anyway). By law, people are supposed to move over a lane on the highways when driving past cop cars and emergency vehicles on the side of the road, and so everyone has to change lanes to go around them...and that's a pain during rush hour.

When traffic is heavy, it can be more difficult to change lanes, and sometimes people are not the most considerate and don't bother to leave room for that. Then you also have the looky-loos who stop paying attention to the road to try and see what's going on. And all of that become road hazards that lead to accidents that become road hazards that lead to accidents that become road hazards...and is an endless loop that ends with everyone dead. Probably not exactly though.

I'm sure anyone who has driven past these cops who have people pulled over, probably for doing 70 in a 60 or similar, knows what I'm talking about. Those people speeding down the road, in my opinion as I haven't researched, are less of a danger than the cops who have them pulled over. Generally, people are only speeding when there isn't high amounts of traffic, because when there is traffic it's really hard to speed. Does speeding really harm anyone? Probably no more than anyone else doing the speed limit. The real danger comes to the speeding vehicle and the likeliness of them surviving an accident and that should be their own decision.

The only real reason for cops to pull people over is to write tickets. Tickets don't prevent speeding or make roads safer. Tickets make money. In the end its all about coercing money from people. Police even have a quota system for writing tickets also, but that's a whole other issue...

Maybe people would be safer if cops spend less time sitting around waiting to pull people over for speeding or not wearing seat belts and actually served and protected people as their motto misleadingly suggests they do.

Facebook Messenger app IS NOT EVIL

Stop falling for headlines struggling to get attention. Yes, the permissions allow the app to use your phone to take pictures, videos, send sms, make phone calls, etc. But you know what? Every app that uses those features requires the same permissions! It's not scary. All those headlines are simply misleading, and misinforming the public simply to get more page views, likes, clicks, etc, because those things make them money. Would you care about an article that said "FB Messenger app requires standard permissions!"? Probably not.

To add some perspective here, Google, the company that is responsible for Android, has access to all the same things that these articles are warning people about. They have ALWAYS had it, because it is their Operation System that is on the phone. You log into Google to use the phone, and they store all your contacts and information. Yet, nobody bats an eye about Google having all that information. So think about that when you worry about the standard permission that an app REQUIRES to enable you to send someone a picture, a video, or other. Those permissions are named as such by Google, not Facebook or anyone else.

Religious freedom...to be assholes

It's now been 'legally' determined that companies can deny certain Healthcare benefits based on the 'religious' beliefs of those in charge thanks to Hobby Lobby. And it's bs.

I'm going to put aside the fact that I don't believe companies should be forced to provide health insurance to begin with in what is supposed to be a country full of freedom and liberty. This isn't a free country with liberties, and they do coerce companies to follow their unjust laws. Companies being forced to provide health insurance should be the issue, not the issue of what parts of it are enforced.

If companies are forced to provide the service, it shouldn't also allow companies to impose their religious beliefs on others. And this one step will further that ability as companies demand more 'religious freedom' to deny more people things, such as what I've recently read how they want to be exempt from having to hire LGBT because of religion. At what point are they exempt from providing the insurance because they don't believe in it? I've heard of a religious person not go to the hospital and instead pray about their wound or illness. And I'm sure that would have been in the news... 'Man dies praying for healing from flesh wound rather than seeking medical assistance'.

To save money, it wouldn't be long before almost every company started denying whatever they could for 'religious beliefs' if it cut costs. What's worse is that these companies make so much money that it doesn't even make sense. It's not as if they can't afford it. These people are simply assholes. Self-centered, sociopathic assholes. 

Why don't we recycle EVERYTHING??

Trash is an issue. It fills up landfills with waste that isn't biodegradable, and sometimes even toxic. This doesn't make any sense to me. We acknowledge that it's an issue and something we need to do something about, and yet the easiest solutions are not being implemented. How hard would it really be to ensure that everything produced and consumed is either recyclable or biodegradable?

There are few things I would care for government to do, but if we have such an entity that could do so, why could they not simply regulate it so that everything is to be recyclable or biodegradable so that we would no longer be simply filling landfills with items that will essentially last forever within that landfill? Even better if everything could simply be recyclable, though I realize that isn't probably realistic. The government is all about regulating everything anyway...

I've found that recycling things is likely not happening as much as it should because it isn't convenient or easy. In attempting to find out how to recycle things such as metal hangers and old electronics, I've found that there are websites (such as http://search.earth911.com/) that will help you find locations that will take those items. Which is helpful, but then you have to have time to take it to those places yourself, and hopefully they are nearby and open during the hours you're not working.

In the end it's all about money. The environment takes a backseat to the all mighty dollar. It's not cost effective to make everything recyclable. It's probably not cost effective to recycle everything either. I sure do hope they make it cost effective to build and fly rockets off the planet before we can no longer live here at least. Just saying.

Soccer explodes in the US???

I'm seriously confused as to why soccer is so popular suddenly. In the states, soccer has never been the popular sport. But this year it's suddenly the biggest thing which just isn't a typical thing for the US. I can't recall seeing so much about it on news, tv, the internet, or even facebook before this year. What is going on? Did I miss something?

I can't say I'm much into sports to begin with, so I'm entirely up on anything sports. One thing I wonder is, are people just so bored that they decided to get excited over soccer? Or perhaps, being the conspiracy minded person I am, the government is using tv media to hype up the sport to get the American people distracted by it while they do devious things behind closed doors? I wouldn't put it past our supreme overlords to do such a thing.

Soccer has always been a thing for kids and soccer moms, not sports fans. I'm not a sports fan at all, so this is the time when I shouldn't have to deal with all the sports fanaticism. Stop it already.

The Rise of Tyranny

If you pay attention and watch what's happening in America, you get to see just how tyranny occurs. It's not something that happens overnight, and it doesn't just come out and say it's tyranny, but it shows up as good intentions.

Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This was the reason we started as a republic. The constitution and bill of rights was created to limit the power, and by allowing or sitting idly by while the government ignores or is allowed to modify these documents, they are allowed to grow in power and corruption.

I suppose the biggest event, and most recent would be the attempt to ban guns. Yes, it wasn't an actual attempt to outright ban guns, but to create new laws and ban certain guns. They do this under the guise of 'preventing gun violence'. The first problem is that, while no guns = no gun violence, it does not also mean no violence. When you realize that violence is not caused by owning a gun, you realize it doesn't prevent violence, only converts it from gun violence to physical violence.

I will also admit that, a lack of guns in the hands of criminals would reduce the potential for gun related death. That should be obvious. No guns to kill people = no gun deaths. Duh. But more importantly, guns can make it easier for those incapable of doing greater harm physically to do it with a gun. Even then, if nobody is willing or capable to stop someone wielding a knife, as has been demonstrate, a knife wielding psychopath can still inflict a lot of damage on people.

Last statement on guns, if they take them away from the citizens, the only people left with guns are the criminals (which include government of course).

I don't believe this is a direct result of government, but a natural order of tyranny, how our police forces have taken it upon themselves to police everything they possibly can, going as far as preventing kids from playing in the street (which could be understandable on very busy streets, but that would be very bad parenting). Social welfare. This is perhaps the core of what I think is the fall of America. This is what creates sheeple who vote for and allow the government to do whatever it wants. Those who can vote to be given things, WILL vote to be given things. It's not about who has the best interests for America. It's not about who will help create jobs or improve America. It's about who is going to give me things. That is how tyranny makes it into power. They promise to take away from those who have, to give to those who don't. If you're a parent or have a brain, you know that when you will just give a child what they want without needing to work for it, they won't work for it.

What's happening with welfare and during bad economic times, is a lot of people end up on one of the many government social welfare programs. Those who once were willing to work for what they have soon learn and become comfortable simply staying on the government teat. What's more unfortunate about this is, companies do not want to hire people who have been living on unemployment or have not been employed after a certain amount of time. While there are some reasons I can understand that, it also forces those people to stay on social welfare programs, not because they want to, but because they have no other choice.

What I don't think most people really consider or even think about when it comes to these social welfare programs or anything the government does is this: It does not use it's own money because it has none of it's own. All of the money government spends is first taken from YOU! Assuming you're working and paying taxes that is. Every last penny the government spends came from you. So when the government sends that welfare check to the bum that simply doesn't want to work, they are sending them you're money. When the government somehow spends $1000 on a toilet seat...that's you're money buying a toilet seat.

There is a total lack of personal responsibility. Nobody is allowed to be responsible for themselves. Slowly, this allows the government to take over responsibility, and power, over everyone. Hitler didn't rise to power saying he is going to be the best dictator and take over the world. He rose to power on good intentions and "helping" people.

When you can start comparing what America is doing to what other fascist, dictatorships, and tyrannical governments have done just maybe that's a sign of where we are headed. To deny that is to be a sheeple that simple follows and believes everything their government overlords tell them. The idea that just because one country or people did something and it turned out bad doesn't mean America doing it will turn out bad...is a very bad idea. Trial and error for tyranny to create utopia is just a bad idea.

There are two kinds of people in America...

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Unfortunately, you've grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that's at the root of all our problems. Some of these same voices also do their best to gum up the works. They'll warn that tyranny always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices. Because what they suggest is that our brave, and creative, and unique experiment in self-rule is somehow just a sham with which we can't be trusted.

We have never been a people who place all our faith in government to solve our problems. We shouldn't want to. But we don't think the government is the source of all our problems, either. Because we understand that this democracy is ours. And as citizens, we understand that it's not about what America can do for us, it's about what can be done by us, together, through the hard and frustrating but absolutely necessary work of self-government. And class of 2013, you have to be involved in that process.

Those who realize how bad and tyrannical that speech is, and those who believe every word. If you're the latter, I've got bad news for you.

Changing America

I believe we are close to a point in America where the only way to get positive change is through force...the reason we have the 2nd amendment...which is slowly being eroded away.

However, what I think may be an issue is a lack of attention on changing how we elect people to positions of government...how campaigns are ran. How we allow the media to use their bias, their control over who even appears on the television, to control public opinion and thus the public vote. Why is it we constantly attempt to attain change through voting, only to end up with politicians who only care about corporate interests? Why is there not more outcry for change on this whole system?

Some changes for starters, the smear campaigns that may typically take things out of context to make someone look bad should be banned. It's not a campaign for why you should vote for one or the other, but why you shouldn't vote for them.

News coverage should be required to cover all possible candidates equally. Rather than the focus given to only the top two contenders...who may not actually be the top two, but the top two for corporate interests. These corporations that provide news coverage and claim to be unbiased and fair...should be fined greatly if not have prison time when it comes to misleading and biased information when it comes to elections. We are electing people who will be running cities, states, and even an entire country! These people will be making decisions that effect thousands and millions of people. People deserve to know and have access to accurate and complete coverage for all of them.

Debates should include all running candidates. Not just republican and democrat. There are more than two parties. It's manipulative to only allow people to only see two sides. If I have to decide between coke, pepsi, and popco, never having heard of popco or being able to taste it, I will obviously choose only between coke and pepsi. In the case of a restaurant food menu, that may not be a huge issue, but when it comes to something greater like who will run the country, popco might be the greatest soda I've ever had...but if they don't have corporate interests in mind, then those corporate assholes will keep it off the air. In the end, the people lose out to corporate interest.

Corporate funding should be nearly eliminated from politics. Let the people back who they want to win, not corporations and special interest groups. When it comes to candidates, the ones with the most financial backing are typical the front runners. Not because they are the best, but because they are the most advertised. With the digital age, this isn't as much the case, but for a majority of voters who do not get their information online, it is.

Essentially, what I think we need to do to change things, is change the way campaigns are run first. We will not get politicians who have the interests of the people into office when corporations are allowed to manipulate public opinion so easily. This is how I believe we the people will make actual change for the good of America. Corruption within the system needs to be removed. You don't leave a bad apple in with a bag of apples, you have to remove it before it infects the others. If you don't, at some point all the apples will go bad and introducing good apples will not improve anything, as they also become corrupt.

This is of course, assuming that politics aren't fixed at a level beyond voter manipulation.

History in digital - Can we trust it?

I don't know many people who turn to books for history lessons anymore. These days everyone goes to google, or wikipedia most likely. I have to wonder how reliable and accurate is that? Everyone currently accepts wikipedia as accurate and a reliable source of information. But as we know (hopefully know), it's been proven that it's not always accurate. I remember seeing news about how Scientologists will edit pages, and even politicians edit pages about themselves, not to mention the countless anonymous trolling that occurs via wikipedia and other sources. Though we can't even trust history books...

More recently, history has been modified according to current times definitions of terrorism, in that the Boston Tea Party is now being called an act of terrorism. I had seen an image online which showed that even history text books have reflected this, though I question the authenticity of images like that online. This all makes me wonder, how do we know what really happened in history if all we do is look it up on an easily modified source such as the internet? If they are editing history in schools, how do we know they haven't already changed the sources on the internet? I for one do not have the best memory and will look things up. I would not know if something had been modified or not. But if the Boston Tea Party was an act of terrorism, then America is a terrorist organization.

Considering the current tyrannical path our government has taken, and seeing that other such governments have gone as far as modifying their own historical information to fit their needs and agendas, how do we know that our own hasn't already done so? Some lesser known historical information that even when I went through school was not accurate (or not even taught), such as how the native Americans were so great in numbers that even with firearms there is no way we would have been able to take America from them had it not been for the diseases and plagues that wiped the majority of them out. Christopher Columbus was not some great explorer who discovered America. President Lincoln abused government power, that when the civil war started, it was not because of slavery, but because the south succeeded from the Union and Lincoln would not allow that. Not only historical falsification occurs, but even the meanings of things such as our constitution is being modified. Such as how the 2nd amendment only applied to muskets. Anyone who thinks that, is a fucking idiot.

The more I learn, the more I find that what history is generally accepted and taught, is not factual history at all. I further believe that our government has in fact been falsifying history just as other governments have to paint it in a better light than is factual. Our government has been tyrannical since the 1800's. And slowly we have had our liberties and freedoms that were fought for taken away. What America was founded on and escaped from no longer exists. We came to America to get away from taxation, to have freedom of religion, and have our liberties and pursue happiness. We are being taxed more and more, freedom of religion is slowly becoming freedom of Christianity, and our liberties taken away while being forced into wage slavery.

If we knew our true history, perhaps we would not be in the situation we are in today, where our government is slowly eroding away the constitution that America was founded on, and our liberties being taken away. Remember, history is "written" not recorded, by the victor. Rise up sheeple. Stop being mindless faux news drones believing everything you're told.

Is anyone raising children anymore?

It seems to me that more parents are merely watching their children grow older than actually raising them...

We live in a day and age with so many gadgets and applications for monitoring where and what your child is doing, so rather than raising children that the parents can trust they simply monitor everything they do. This is bad, not only for the child but for society as a whole.

Parents have become "big brother" to their kids. Monitoring everywhere they go, every web site they visit, everything they do is monitored these days. They even have drones that can watch them as they walk to bus stops...which is crazy. I understand some parents aren't worried about what their children may do as much as worried for their safety out in the real world. But it's a false sense of security. It's like knowing police can show up in 30 minutes as opposed to actually having the ability to defend yourself. You have a cop on call, but if something actually happens you're defenseless. A kid that knows the candy van isn't real is far better off than a kid who doesn't...and even better off a kid who knows how to fend off a possible attacker or kidnapper.

In the past, parents never had all the child surveillance technology we do today, and it's become so common place. They sell these devices with the idea of "child safety" and "child protection". Yet, the same parents probably complain when the government does the same to them with the purpose of "citizen protection". I find it difficult to believe the world is so bad that we have to use such technology to watch children because it's that unsafe out there. From what I've seen, it's a lack of proper parenting that's the real issue.

On a bigger picture, this is going to be awful for society in the long run. We essentially are making the "big brother" scenario common for them. They will be used to this idea of always being watched and may even expect it later in life without realizing or seeing the negative implications of having no privacy. This is paving the way for a big brother government, or at least one more so invasive than it already is.

It's simple. If you raise children properly, you won't need to monitor them. I think this qoute applies to the issue of child monitoring, just as much as government monitoring its citizens...

Self Defense is Best Defense

Defending ourselves, or relying on an outside force to do so...why would we put our safety and livelihood in the hands of complete strangers who are susceptible to corruption other self motivating conditions?

I for one do not believe in the idea of relying on police to protect an entire country of people from murder, theft, and other crimes. Laws do not prevent the crimes they make illegal, and police can't prevent crimes. They are only good after the crime is already committed. So why are we being forced into a position of having to rely on them for our safety?

For example, assuming you don't have weapons, if an armed burglar breaks into your home you can call the cops. They will arrive 30 minutes or more later after the burglar has already stolen everything, and in a worse case scenario, killed everyone. Also, the cops only show up if you are able to call them. Then those same cops will maybe look for evidence to help them find the person who broke in if it's important enough since they don't have time to look into every case. In most cases, they will simply show up for the sake of any insurance claim you make assuming you have insurance in the first place for it.

So what I would prefer this country pursue is a country of trained and armed citizens. It makes more sense to have a country of citizens who can defend themselves and their property than paying for the poor service of protection provided by police. Consider Switzerland, the most armed citizens and lowest rate for homicide. Essentially, who is going to take the chance of being killed if that chance is so high? Same reason all the countries want nuclear weapons...who wants to fight a country that could nuke you?

Rather than trying to ban any weapon, the US really should consider the idea of pushing for people to arm themselves, and ensure everyone is trained in the use of firearms. An increase in the chance that you'll be shot and killed robbing someone, a bank, store, etc, would greatly decrease the crime rate. Having people walk around cities with pistols, or even assault rifles slung across their shoulder would be a great deterrent to crime. It would kind of be like having police everywhere...which just isn't going to happen, I hope.

Violence caused by what we view?

Something I'm curious about, and has been an issue for the media previously when it comes to violence in video games and television and such, is if it's really tv and video game that makes you want to do violence, or is it some sort of pre-existing desire that is spurred forward by viewing such things?

For instance, I enjoy watching Dexter and Breaking Bad. Extremely good tv shows. When it comes to murder, I think everyone, males mostly I think, have this innate desire in them for it, at least when it comes to self defense or defense of others and property...and possibly just for natural selection reasons. In the past killing each other used to be what people had to do. Someone tries to rob you or shoot you for some reason, you hopefully shot them first instead. Survival of the fittest. These days we can't (aren't supposed to) do that, most of the time anyway. Not to mention we are trained against defending ourselves from an early age, always have to tell someone else who will do something about it such as a teacher, or police officer...which is total bullshit. We should be trained to do something about it ourselves...but that's a different topic though.

The best movie I think, would be God Bless America. Don't let the title fool you if you haven't heard of it before. A guy goes around shooting really awful people, though not killers as in Dexter, but people who do awful things like take up multiple parking spaces and then doesn't give a fuck type...or better yet, preachers preaching against gays such as the hillsboro or whatever church that was. Too lazy to look that one up. Normally people should probably think that's horrible. But I think anyone who enjoys that movie think the exact opposite. I want to see that really happen. I want to see that widespread so all the people who are total dick bags reconsider their dick bag ways...or die.

So is violence on our tv's the issue, or is the fact that people out there deserve to be shot in the head the real issue? The kids shooting up school aren't the ones showing up and being greeted and everyone loves them. They were the ones picked on and bullied. It makes sense. Personally I think it's the world that is the issue, not the tv...and nobody wants to take responsibility for anything.

Truck Driving

I've been driving trucks for a little over 4 months now. The big trucks that everyone hates on the road that go slow up hill and slow past each other blocking traffic. Trust me, I hate it even driving the truck.

I can't say much about the company I drive for as I have no idea how other companies do business, pay or run their drivers, etc. What I have heard though, is that they are the lowest paying of them all. But again, I don't actually know for sure, or at all, about that.

I went through a 2 week class to get a Class A drivers license. Honestly, unless you're a friggen tard, anyone can pass it. They practically pass you through the class, providing answers, and sometimes ignoring things that you should fail for. Understandable since they get money from the government for putting people through the class...but scary for the fact they will be on the road driving a giant death mobile (with the wrong driver of course).

The major downside to truck driving...assuming you have a social life...is the fact you never go home. You live in the truck as you drive all over the country. This is until you have the experience (or connections) to move get a local driving position. Seriously though, you have no life. You drive, you sleep, you drive some more.

The more setup drivers have a tv, possibly a gaming console (I have an Xbox), and buy a lot of movies. Some will even have microwaves for food, but I've always enjoyed eating out, usually fast food though. Another downside is a lack of a bathroom or shower. Most of the time, you will be stopped at a truck stop at the end of the day for showers, but not always. And the bathroom can be difficulty or far between when driving down the highway.

Being a more solitary person, I do enjoy the job, but I miss having a decent computer and time to do the projects I enjoy.

Damn you Apple fanboys!

Why do they keep making all these neat things for iPhones!? It's not even that great of a phone. Android phones are even better. Also, windows mobile phones are getting better also. Other phones have better hardware, better OS, but admittedly, the only thing iPhone has going for it now is it's sleek look. Otherwise they are way way overpriced for how low end they are.

And you know who perpetuates this? Apple fanboys. Just like Starbucks with crappy coffee that sells so well because of ignorant people who are more into looks than taste or functionality. So now you have companies building devices and apps that are sometimes exclusive to Apple, and ignoring a very large Android market. I do however see one important aspect of this. There is only one apple device to make it for, not having to worry about different OS versions, or hardware specs. You make one app, one device, and it works on all apple phones you make it for. Whereas you make an app, and it will hopefully work on most android powered devices. Though most of the time any problem is usually user related anyway.

Speaking of those kind of different hardware/OS specs on different phones causing issues...why have they not come up with a solution for that? I mean, we've been dealing with the same issues with Microsoft Windows for forever now. Someone makes a game or other app, and it doesn't work correctly because you have this audio card, or that video card, or video driver. It should have all just become standardized by now. A slight side track anyway.

Regardless, if fan boys want to pay exuberant prices for an image, so be it. I'll spend less money for a more capable device and spend the rest of my money on something else fun.


Back story: Saw some things about new devices for iPhones, also the taxi cab app, Uber, and the last time I went to a store about an android keyboard for an android tablet all I find are apple keyboards. Come on. Android is really popular too you know.

Religion and Drugs - Similarities

I've been thinking about how drugs and religion are essentially the same thing.


People who are into them refuse to hear logic or reason as to why they shouldn't.

They hang out with people who are into it also.

Both have people on the streets peddling it.

Most people give a large sum of their income for it, and some give everything they have for it.

People fight wars and die over them.

They are illegal in certain countries, and legal in others.

People who grow up with it are more likely to do it.

Stores capitalize on paraphernalia for them.

Both can push loved ones, friends, etc, away.

Both are very psychological in how they affect people.

People try to free those addicted from them.

Presidential Elections

One thing is obvious. There is nothing fair or unbiased about the presidential elections. Media covers the candidate they want to win more, and try to ignore or downplay the opposition. They put their biased spins on everything they cover. This isn't the first election for this to occur, not the second, third, etc. But it's the first time I cared to pay any attention, right up until it became the difference between voting for Obama, or Romney who basically is the same person.

It's to be expected though. The news media is a company after all, and the election of a president who plans to make the rich richer is going to be the candidate the heads of those companies want elected. It's not right however. For a majority of people, tv is still their main source of information about candidates, specifically the elderly who are more likely to vote...since they care more about their medicare than the future or the country.

I propose that there should be laws put into place to ensure that elections in the future are fair and unbiased, or as unbiased as possible anyway. Every possible candidate should be required to have the same amount of air time on tv, with no personal opinions provided. Simply provide the news about the on goings of candidates, show the debates, etc. Allow the audience to make their own decisions based on the candidates, not what the media companies can spin.

Advertisements should not be allowed to bash candidates. When elections are simply about voting for the lesser of two evils, there is a problem there. Ads on tv about candidates simply flame each other for this thing they did or didn't do, and they simply go back and forth.

This election is about voting anyone but Obama, regardless if it were Obama's own clone or Hitler, just so long as it's not Obama. Are you fucking kidding me?

Happy 4th of July!

The day we gained our independence only to lose a lot of what was gained to our own government! Seriously, look into what we fought for (assuming you can find it). Then look at what our government does, maybe not entirely to us, but to other countries too.

I understand celebrating things. Sure. But when you are celebrating something you no longer have?
Sure, we have our independence from England. But all the reasons we fought for that independence? Not so much.

While our government doesn't do all of the above list, at least not to us specifically (some things it does to other countries now), it does a lot of them. I don't want to pay taxes, we don't vote in judges (Supreme court judges are appointed), we have massive government, we have a police force that more and more is doing whatever they want, laws are passed without any voting from us (Americans, instead of just the government voting within itself), we aparantly now take people from other countries that break laws of our own country from other countries and bring them here to stand trial (Megaupload), we send lots of troops to foreign countries even though there isn't a war (Fuck you, "war on terror" isnt' a fucking war), NDAA - no jury, no judge, just a big fuck you, etc. etc. etc.

But hey, at least we are independent of England! Woo! Let's blow shit up and celebrate that!

Netflix ReSubscription

TIL You can resubscribe to Netflix with one simple click of a link.

So let this be a lesson to anyone who cancels their Netflix, but has been letting others use it. They may not realize you're going to change the password to the Netflix immediately after finding out they resubscribed you, and just be wasting your money, but I do.

I mean, seriously. Obviously they are just being a dick about it, because clearly you wanted the account cancelled because you have no job, and no money to actually pay for anything anyway. Also the fact that you can easily change the Netflix password to keep them out of what they just resubscribed to. At the very least, at least it's only 7.99, and the only reason I had it in the first place was because I forgot to cancel the trial before they charged me.

To reiterate, change your Netflix password after you cancel it if you've let anyone else use the account. They might subscribe you again.
